To Misha and all the Periphery guys: I discovered you in a guitar magazine in jail. True story. If you can only imagine, there's not much to do in there and one of the other inmates happened to be receiving a subscription to some kind of Music Magazine. I don't remember which one at the moment.
He would let me read them and because I am a Metalhead and have been playing guitar most of my life and also because I was bored out of my skull, LOL, I began to write down the names of bands that I had never heard of with the intention of youtubing them when I got out of there.
For some reason I remembered your guys band logo as being really cool and just the design alone had me wondering about you guys. I know that might sound weird, based on the design of your logo I decided that you guys might be something LOL. And I also remember that the magazine I saw you in was advertising your album Juggernaut Alpha and Omega. Fast forward to about two years ago when I got home from that wretched place, and I pull out the notebook when I had a quiet moment and begin looking through all the bands I wrote down and I found your name and looked you up on YouTube and the first video I found was Alpha.
I cannot lie I was not the biggest fan at first LOL. I didn't quite know what to make of it but I knew the music was good it was just different. so I left it alone. but I found myself revisiting that song from time to time over the next several months and then slowly I started branching out and listening to a couple of more songs and finding your guys videos on YouTube. Not your music videos, but I was looking you guys up as guitar players and I began to see a pattern.
Despite having a huge following you guys are so down-to-earth and so humble. Not only are you super talented, but the fact that you are constantly sharing online is just so freaking gracious of you all. I have become such a humongous fan, and I LIKE that you guys switch it up, change it up, I like it ALL. I saw your documentary about a month ago and I must say, besides you guys maybe making your singer look like a lush, (because he's really a great singer and he should have been included more in your documentary), I can't remember who said it, it might have been Mark, but one of you said that it might sound crappy, but that you guys weren't making the music for the fans but you are making it for you! And that is the most awesome statement that anyone could ever have said... period! I'm not on here licking your balls or kissing your asses, I just appreciate your music and I'm glad I discovered you guys. I think that it's awesome that you share. Music is art and it's meant to be shared. Thank you for your contribution to Art and to music and I look forward everything you guys do. It's too bad there's so many people analyzing and criticizing your music. That just makes me think that there is no bad publicity! Always going to be some kind of haters right?
Anyway, you've got a new fan. I live in Milford Connecticut and you guys were just in New Haven in April at Toad's Place and I missed you because I had to work that night and I was so bummed! I hope I get to see you guys the next time you roll through!

I'm in the middle of learning this song.... it is a fucking WORKOUT.

You know why I like Misha, is because he doesn't over complicate these songs. Most guitar players just play a solo to show off how fast they are, which is fine but it's nice to see some variety and some soul in a solo for once.

The trempicked stuff with the delay really make it shine, sounds epic as hell. This song has a great neoclassical vibe about it plus the trempicked delay melody reminds me of one of my favorite bands, caliban. I prefer the instrumental version for sure.

All this Periphery success and you can't iron your T shirt? Nolly would iron his shirt. If you can afford HD800 headphones you can afford an iron. You have let Periphery down. Love, mum.

This is still one of my favorite Periphery riffs. One day I hope to write something this incredible.

I like how they obviously don’t take themselves too seriously yet produce serious and perfectionistic music.

P3 is easily your best work so far. I love what you said in your making-of documentary about not making music for fans or for anybody else but instead going with what you feel and what you hear. And that's exactly why we love you guys!

Woah, i haven't listened to Periphery in a while. This is probably the best metal song i've heard in a while. The Cinematic elements are gorgeous. You dudes are extremely gifted songwriters.

Crisp as fuck. Also, gotta love Misha's top notch conducting during the string section!

Love the volume knob/pickup selector nervous habit at 1:07, 1:16, 2:16, and 2:25. I do the same thing - haha.
