retired 20 year oil field supply boat captain. towed rigs and resupplied all the rigs and platforms in the Gulf. All those years took a tole on my marriage and my relationship with my son. For a long time my son thought I was a no good SOB. I signed those papers for her when she lost the love for a man that was away for months at a time and no longer looked forward to me coming home. To all my brothers on the boats that make the runs out to the rigs and do the crew changes by boat....keep it up fellas!!!
Skippers keep bringing the men,
supplies, liquid mud, fuel, water and cement, barrite, gel, hammers, wire line, groceries and every god damm things else they need out there!!!
you call, we haul!

A REAL Woman stands by her oilfield man through thick and thin, money and layoffs, time together and time apart. Real love endures.

I started work in the oilfield when I was 15 and I am 58 now and I feel pride in it every day. Would not change a thing.

Been a field wife for almost 14 years. Got a husband, father in law, 2 brothers and friends in the field. This song makes me love them even more. So proud of my boys.

When I'm down and out it's good to be able to listen to songs that remind me why I do what I do thank you

I am proud to be a son of an oilfield man I remember waking up for school in the morning getting ready grabbing my stuff and heading out the door my father would be coming in tired exhausted hurting one day I asked him"dad why do you get up at 5:00 in the morning go into work and not getting back until 12:00 or 1:00 in the morning and he told me something I'll never forget'he's like son I get up every morning because I do it for you and your mother does it matter if it's 100° or below freezing I will keep walking through the mud oil and know that I'm doing my job to keep you and your mother safe and happy and warm that's why I get up at 5:00 every morning because I know if you're taking care of that fine with me"so to all of you and work on the ocean oil rigs or work on the oil rigs and land all of you have a safe trip home and just know you work is not forgotten

As an outsider from a state that doesn’t have drilling or oilfield hands, it is quite an eye opener to see the reality of this work. We (me) are clueless to what is involved and how hard the work is. Mad props to everyone in the process, from the Co. man to the floor hands to the gate guards to the truckers.

I was in the oilfield for 9 years.
It was a ride I’ll never forget.
I was introduced to this song right before I was Layed-Off.
This song represents my life during that ride perfectly in a way only those who know can receive it.

Chad used to be my neighbor in Nashville. He used to write songs on protools in his apartment and we'd just sit around the pool and bbq and all we listened to was Chad Cooke. That was back in 2008. I always said you're going to do big things dude. So proud of him. I'm one of his first fans and I'll always be one.

3rd Generation Oilfield. Rigs, Roustabout, Pumper, Production and Land. I Just turned 64 and still at it here in Oklahoma. My Grandfather started in West Texas and then into Oklahoma, where my dad spent his 40 years. It’s been a good ride. I’d do it all over again.

Being a miner, I can very closely relate to this song. Gives me chills every time I lessen to it. 14-16 hour days if not longer. Same game, different field. Keep on keeping on. We’re all cut from Kevlar and you gotta work our industry to understand our pain. “This hard hat n steel toes on my feet, built the roughneck man that I’ll always be” I know roughneck is an oil man term, but same difference. We busy our ass, blood, sweat, and tears and you can only truly appreciate it if you go though it. Stay strong, blue collared brothers 🇺🇸👷🏽‍♂️

The oilfield really reminds me of my army days. The days are hard, but just like I miss my boys back from the army days, I’ll hold on to these days as long as I can.
