For the record, that is not Ikaruga in this scene. That mech is called The Toybox. It was a mech made for theory and equipment testing. Ernest actually says at one point that he just throws all of his ideas at it.

In the comic, there was a scene where Andy and Kid had confrontation with one of their half siblings. They have a older sister that is a third year, and a brother that is in the same year as them when they first entered school. The brother pulled a “Your commoner, I’m a noble. I’m ashamed to be related to you, you should bow to me, and stuff” so he kidnaps Andy to win a dual against Kid, but Ernie saves Andy before Kid get hurt badly.

It’s pretty interesting how it played on the big factor from one of the OG Mecha series in Gundam (the first)

Namely Zeon lost because they put so much work into numerous limited supplied prototypes and such with their main stay replacements coming to late to counter the growing forces of UE

what makes this anime so great is because this is the post modern version of all mecha anime
this is like the stone age type of mecha or the bronze or copper age style of war
since before erinestis new mech most mechs relied on swords/ sheilds the most basic
plus they had to walk and had energy supplies and couldent fly
other mecha anime could fly or had guns or mecha that turned into ships
this anime is very basic and its kinda like the first mecha of all mecha anime
other mechas also were in space
these mechs were down to earth and still fighting 1v1 mech to mech with knights
im really surprised this isent more popular in the mecha anime

Ikaruga has two main arms and 4 at the back can fly higher and faster than toybox.Ikaruga also has a demon face but in a samurai way...

Ikaruga was not yet made the Ernesti's unit named Toybox which was a predessesor unit to Ikaruga. Tzendolg is a prototype unit for Tzendolimbe. Tzendolg is a two seater unit one pilot focus on attack while the other pilot focuses on manuevering.
