While physiognomy (face reading) has been around since Ancient Greece, Johann Lavater is the guy we need to credit (blame) for bringing it back into popularity in the early 1900s and making it a "science" 🙄 Thank, Johann.

Couldn't even find the right thing to compare... According to that analogy, physiognomy should be looking at a malnourished or sickly person and saying, yeah they ain't doin' too good.

This dud would absolutely have argued with everyone's Nana that we SHOULD judge a book by it's cover, that books whose spines are exactly 47 millimetres wide all have misattributed quotes.

Jones on that guy. Do you know how many varieties of corn have been bred simply based on what a particular farmer wanted from their crop. Which by the way changes based on needs industry and environment.

Based on that analogy, it sounds like he's confused "physiognomy" with "medicine".

Lmao you can tell when a person is sick or not. That doesn’t mean they are a good or bad person

So... What would be the physiognomy analogy of the farmer *peeling the husk off the ear of corn*??? 😮

Let’s start with the fact that he’s a preacher. That means he is not a biology expert…ie., has no business forming and broadcasting biology “theories.”

But with some illnesses you CAN tell what the person is not feeling well. So he is not entirely wrong
