For monster hunter, the monsters you hunt for commissions and quests are generally causing some sort of issue like repeatedly attacking merchants and towns, or they're throwing off the ecosystem by overhunting or causing territorial issues. Also, you canonically only do each hunt once, so you're basically basically just doing animal control with extra steps
