Who wins this battle: Prius Prime or RAV4 Prime? Which one is the best value for the money? Would love your feedback! Jeff

Thanks, Jeff! I purchased a RAV4 Hybrid last Oct and your videos helped me with that choice. I subscribed to your channel after that anyway, because I enjoy your videos. Blessings to you & your family.

I love the 82mpg my Prius prime gets me on my 110 mile commute every day!

As an owner of both a Camry and Prius, I can tell you if you're hauling BIG cargo, the Prius does a far better job (it being a hatchback). With the seats folded down, the Camry trunk narrows going into the cabin and effectively blocks stuff that the Prius doesn't. Actually surprising how much stuff u can cram into the back of a Prius.

lol riddle me this. My video has been up for 2 minutes....my 22-minute video. And someone gave it a dislike already??? If you do not like me or my style, please just do not watch my vids. Dislikes hurt my audience reach. I wasn't sure if you knew that when you hit dislike. Sorry you did not like this one. I'll try better next time. Jeff

For me, between these two it would be the RAV4 Prime XSE all the way. I'd have to do some serious number crunching to decide if the roughly $7000 difference over the Hybrid XSE would make sense, but it's my pick of the comparison here. If cost were no object, it would be a no brainer!
The fact that the Prius Prime (in fact several in the Prius line...) don't even have a space saver spare, but a "tire repair kit" is a show stopper. When I bought my previous car (which I just replaced with a Camry Hybrid LE!), my choice came down to Toyota Solara, Honda Accord, and Nissan Maxima... one huge factor that helped tip the decision to the Toyota was that it was the only one of the three that had a real spare tire. The other two had the space saver. The impact of how that plays out in real world situations make the space saver an option I can live with, the lack of even that gets a car scratched off my list.

Great stuff Jeff. I have both in family (base Prius Prime and Rav4Prime SE) and they all serve different purpose. Prius is the office car for 1 person (set route, know how much electricity and gas is needed, not hauling more people or things), where as Rav4 is our anytime/anywhere car. With discount and federal tax credit Prius Prime is a crazy deal (especially with rising gas/electricity prices); Rav4 not as good $/mile but it's really the beset hybrid (space/performance/AWD) Toyota has right now.

Great job! It was actually very helpful. I like how you took the time to show each vehicle in details.

RAV4 Prime all the way - performance and overall aesthetics are the main reasons!

Great video. I just have one question. I’m going back and forth between these two vehicles. Still learning about the electric vehicles. With the 25 miles electric mode in Prius and 42 in the rav4, does that mean every time you get into a charged Prius or Rav 4 your first 25 or 42 miles driven respectively will be purely electric and then the hybrid will kick in?

All I want is better/the best gas mileage.😂So it’s the Prius Prime for me.

They are both great cars / suv's. Would love either. If pressed I would take the Prius. Love the efficiency of the Prius. I have the 2012 Prius Plugin (predecessor to the Prime). Over 73K I am averaging 92 MPG. I take lots of short trips that is how I achieve that MPG. Only routine maintenance has been done on it. I can only imagine my MPG on newest Prime with 25 miles of electric only vs the 10 miles of electric only range in mine. Great cars. Love your shows - you may be a goofy guy (in video's) but you KNOW your product. Kudo's.

Bought a 2021 Prius Prime back in December. Absolutely love it, Although, since I have such a short commute, I am paranoid about letting the gas go stale in the gas tank. It is a brilliant piece of engineering. I sort of like the Rav4 Prime, but is it easy enough to find in the US? I heard there were only about 5000 of them allocated to America.

Do you happen to know when then Prius prime will get a face lift or redesign? Because I assumed it would be for the 2022 Prius prime but that didn’t happen.

They're completely different models, of different design generations, with different form factors, filling different needs. Folks know how much space they need/want, how much all-electric range they can regularly use, and how much power/fuel economy will make them happy. I'd love a RAV4 Prime, but I could get by very well with a Prius Prime, and will probably by a used one for less than half the price of a new R4 P – used P.P.s are some of the best deals on reliable, gas efficient vehicles in existence. (Just check to make sure the previous owner kept the battery ventilation filters clean – the biggest factor influencing battery health.)

i hope they redesign Prius Prime so that the battery doesn't take up cargo space

You *could* have used those planes flying overhead to demonstrate how quiet the cabins are on each vehicle. 😉
