On July 12, 2034, ICLR hosted a Friday Forum Webinar titled "Climate-Resilient Stormwater Management: Lessons from 11 Jurisdictions Worldwide", with Mohammad Fereshtehpour, Post-Doctoral Associate, Western University.

As urban development continues to expand and the likelihood of extreme precipitation events rises under climate change, there is an increasing risk of overburdening existing infrastructure. Therefore, considerations need to be made to enhance cities’ stormwater management infrastructure programs, policies, and designs. In this study, researchers analyzed the current practices of 11 cities, including London, Berlin, Copenhagen, Melbourne, New York City, San Francisco, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, Boston, Ottawa, and Toronto, regarding stormwater management and climate change adaptation. Researchers reviewed published documents and interviewed relevant personnel in each city to evaluate their regulatory frameworks, policies, and design guidelines for stormwater management.

Dr. M. Fereshtehpour is a Postdoctoral Associate at the University of Western Ontario, specializing in the intersection of Engineering, Management, and Climate Science. With a Ph.D. in Water Engineering, he focuses on addressing issues related to natural hazards, particularly the impact of floods.
