Thanks for being so honest and doing the research on these hacks! I'm 50-ish lol and I've tried so many cleaning hacks in my life. I do like your vacuum hack. However, I've learned that my carpet gets cleaner if I push it forward in a straight line and pull it back on the same line THEN move it over slightly before pushing it forward for then next line. The way you're doing it, you don't get two full passes on the same line. The trick is to go slowly so that the vacuum has time to pull all the dirt up. But, if you don't have a lot of time and you need to do it quickly, you have a better chance of getting more dirt by vacuuming up and back on the same line then shifting for the next pass than you do the other way. I'm a vacuuming freak. 😂😂😂 Hope this helps. ❤

Wait, hold up … I didn’t know that NOT vacuuming in lines was an option?! 😂 My mom was so hardcore about the vacuum lines, so that’s all I knew and assumed everyone else did that too 😆 Sometimes even now as an adult with five kids of my own, I’ll send my mom a picture of the carpet lines to be funny, but especially if a kid walks across them before I’m done…. bc then I feel like I need to go over that spot to make a line again where they just walked so the room feels “finished” 😂🤣

Thanks for this vid! I’ve found these two BEST HACKS TO TRY:
- Stainless steel fridge cleaner - Sprayway glass cleaner with microfiber towel. Hands down the best for cleaning & shine. No ammonia so won’t harm plastic protective coating. May need to remove oil with 409 / degreaser first. 10 year old fridge looks brand new.
- White plastic cutting boards: Clean with Dish soap, dry, then spray Clorox cleanup and let sit for about 20-30 min. Rinse and Clean again with dish soap. Like new! 💕

For the plastic cutting boards - lay them flat and pour some regular old bleach on them. Leave for like 10 minutes and they'll be clean as new :) no scrubbing needed

The O Cedar mop is also great to wash walls! I bought extra mop heads when I got mine and I keep two for "cleaner" jobs like cabinets and walls. Use the third one strickly for floors. Yes, I launder them, but I still feel better using one strickly for dirty floors!

The trash bag hack isn’t to make it faster it’s to keep the air out of the bag so you in turn habe more room in your trash as all of the air is out and it doesn’t puff up inside the can. ☺️

*I’ve been a professional cleaner many years and always hated how the air gets in the bag and I once learned to poke a little hole in the top of the bag so as trash goes in it pushes the air up and out of the bag/can but this seems like a good hack for that issue! I’ll have to try it out!**

Every time I see vacuum lines, I think of a particular neat freak friend. He takes vacuuming very seriously, and one time he and two others broke into my house (with a spare key) and cleaned it the day I was coming home from a delicate surgery. I saw the lines in the carpet and said, “Adam has been here!” Core memory of a very trying season.

For the cutting boards, just put it in a very sunny window. The sun bleaches out the smell and stains.
My husband chopped kimchi and it stained the cutting board, I washed it as normal and left it in a sunny window. Its good as new. No extra scrubbing or lemons. ❤❤

I've been doing the trashbag and vacuum "hacks" since I was a little girl, my mom taught me! For those wondering about the two hacks: The trashbag one is to prevent air from pushing up the bag and make it awkward to use, and the vacuum one is just the most efficient with time/effort.

Hi Kally. I have a swifter to do my cabinets. I bought washable thick pads for the swiffer. Mrs Myers Lemon verbena cleaner and wash/mop the cabinets. Works great and smells very nice! My mom taught me the vacuuming technique when I was a kid. The track marks was the way she could tell if I'd done it right!. As always, thanks for you truly helpful videos!

I ❤my Ocedar mop, been using one for years, replacing the heads of course. When we bought our current home in 2018, I mopped all of the walls and ceilings in this entire 4 bedroom home, before getting moved in, amongst much other detail cleaning. It wasn’t difficult because the house was empty and clean, but I can’t trust the cleaning of strangers. Anyway, it was worth the effort because everything was fresh and sanitized when we moved in 👍

That cabinet cleaning hack with the spin mop always works amazingly well on cleaning walls! So much easier than scrubbing with better (and faster) results!!
