This is a hard thing for starting actors to understand. Good acting really isn't a skill that some have and others don't, I think it's more of a state of mind, that can only be reached by practice and exposure. Take acting classes, get in uncomfortable situations, learn about people, and have experiences. For example someone who’s experienced trauma or death already has the capacity to be a great actor if they wanted, they’ve felt some of the realest, most painful, eye opening emotions any human can feel, that shit changes you. The only way to act truly realistically is to lose yourself in the scene, so you're not reciting lines from memory but rather speaking out of impulse and emotion, you begin to really mean what you say and actually form a mental connection with the character you're playing. This is where the most brilliant improv moments happen. You gotta fill in the blanks of your character, make a backstory for them even if they don't have one. It's a really fascinating process and craft

I dreamed about acting singe I was a kid (like 6 or 7 years old) but at some point I thought "I could never be an actor. Nobody would want me" so I threw that idea away. Now I'm 15 years old and I never really stopped thinking about acting. I love the fact that for a small amount of time you can be someone different and life a different story and just let yourself be yourself. So now I I'm in a drama club in my school (we are 12 people) and we will do a theater show in 3 months. My teacher told me that she thinks that I should follow my dreams because she thinks I have the potential to become an actor. I am still not really sure that I can do it (mostly because I am not a native English speaker. I also want to be in english speaking movies.)
But I want to try. I want to follow my dreams. I just feel great being on the stage while rehearsing and I know I want to keep doing it.
I think the hardest thing in becoming an actor is believing in yourself.
But I want to try to believe in myself.
