Fantastic tutorial! ← Comment for algorithm + 👍 'd
QUESTION(s): as i was watching, u kept saying, 'reactor'....🧐? You mean Power Plant, right? Also, in the example at 7:57, where _is_ the PP? I'm so confused...
i also wish you'd talk about how Power Plant & Power Distributor relate and how what happens as distributor gets damaged vs PP... etc... 😶

Great vid, made me reconsider my habit to have thrusters at 1 at all times.
Here's a trick I like to do on my combat vessels:
I put all and only my shield boosters into P4, with a system like my Cargo Hatch in P5, purposefully exceeding the power limit. If then, during a fight my shields go down, I can quickly lower the priority of my Cargo Hatch to P4, which puts the P4 group above the threshold, turning off all my boosters, allowing for my shield to come back online quicker, before I switch the Cargo Hatch back to P5, turning on my boosers and getting the resistance boni they provide. This allows me to reduce permanent damage to hull, but be advised; this does INCREASE the amount of time it takes to restore shields to 100%, as broken regeneration rates are higher than when the shield is already online.

This is awesome video and very good explanation. I think the only thing missing was some examples of modules priorities, for exploration, combat, trading and even mining. To give an idea to those newbies (like me) to make future adjustments to their power management builds. Great video. You’re one of the best.

On the way back from the Formidine Rift, this video has revealed to me I have missed out on a considerable benefit. I will visit outfitting ASAP upon my arrival. Thanks!

I see a problem with keeping thrusters below priority 1. It doesn't matter how healthy your FSD is, if your thrusters are throttled down or deactivated, you can't high or low wake out of a situation.

I set mine fairly simply. Shield, Thrusters, FSD, Life Support, Sensors are all priority 1. Basically, anything your life depends on. Any and all weapons are priority 2. That includes mining tools mounted in hardpoints. Limpet Controllers, AFMU, SRV or Fighter Bays, heat sink launchers and so on or priority 3. Assorted add on scanners are priority 4. Cargo Hatch priority 5.

the summery I got from this other then learn the systems, is that the automatic should be used in emergencies but needs to be well thought out before that happens, while manual can help get more from less.
