Fine for ropes. Do loops for cable, if you roll the cable in your fingers it won’t twist up. Wrapping around your arm just puts kinks in the cable.

Learned this somewhere else but glad to see you teach it too, reinforces that it's a good method! Love the videos!

Awesome! I do the exact same to my guylines, but I wrap them between my thumb and pinky. For anyone wondering - this is called the alpine coil.
For thicker or harder cord (like electrical extension cords) I wrap between both hands, which is actually faster than around one arm. Then I secure it differently, sailor’s coil style.

This is a fantastic way to make sure ropes and cords don’t tangle. The problem is it takes up 50% more space when you do this. And multiple ropes don’t stack well. So I only use it in certain situations.

It works great on the back of an upright vacuum

Daisy chain works well too. Especially for longer extension cords. If you start the chin in the midline of your 50ft cord the chain is not only half as long but it also lets you untie the exact amount you need.

Or with enough practice, you can make twist free loops by holding the loop in your palm and letting the rope naturally loop. It is difficult for me to explain, but if you know you know.

Use a rope bag for ropes, and use a 5 gallon bucket for extension cords. Daisy chain hoses. Never hand to elbow.

You can wrap them in loops. Some call it the roadie wrap, and others call it the over-under wrap. You can throw the cord, and it will unravel itself without getting knotted.

I do the fold/twist circle to avoid the twist. It's super quick to do to. Learned it from Stanley steemer.
