If you didn't read the novel before watching this, bad luck.    The novel is excellent,   this movie is tripe.   Fancy having Roger Moore as Sebastian Oldsmith.    When Lee Marvin and Roger Moore signed up,   they saw it as a fast buck.   They don't even bother to try acting properly.   This movie is a travesty of the novel.
