I went to University in Britain and i used to LOVE the breakfasts. Particularly stewed tomatoes on fried bread, back bacon, and, yes, the infamous beans. I temember that the lady in charge in the cafeteria knew my love for these things and made sure there was always some when I came in even late. Edith was such a dear. I imagine shes gone now since this was as far back as 1971. Lol

My grandmother used to make us “egg on toast” it was delicious! She’d toast the bread really well in a skillet with plenty of butter. Then she’d perfectly soft fry an egg. She’d lay it on the toast and lift an edge and break the yolk from the bottom and spread to over the toast. Since we were kids she’d cut the whole thing up in bite size pieces! I still like to cut mine up like that 50 years later! ❤❤❤

Food is all about context. A full English is already a divine breakfast, but you need to be in the merciless jaws of a truly vile hangover before you truly learn to love it

I'm not sure that I have much more traveling in this lifetime, but if I get a chance, I'll definitely go back to one of my favorite cities in the world... LONDON! I lived in Germany for a decade and going to London for an English speaking holiday was absolutely wonderful. Movies in English, plays in English, cookbooks in English, directions in English, people spoke... funny English, but everything was understandable.

Moving to a country where I only knew a few questions that I'd quickly learned (and couldn't understand the answers to) was a challenge, but London was delightful from the first moment.

This establishment having been in existence since 1900... why wasn't it advertised in the 1970s when I first started going there?

When I go to the UK, I know a few pubs that serve a full English breakfast at any time of the day. Even late at night. But this looks incredible!!! Black pudding, fried bread, some mushrooms, sausage.... now I want to go visit again to just eat!

When I go to London I always lose weight first. Because people can say what they like but I love English food! My dad's English and mum Belgian. And I'm used to a lot of different foods. But English food hits different 😋 ❤

Sometimes simple is sooo good. I love a simple breakfast.
Breakfast is my favorite meal to go out and eat.
