Hi Anson - really nice to see such detailed and rigorous testing! You are really doing great work ito quantifying benefits of both outdoor antennas and integrated antenna/modem units. The one aspect not tested, and which I believe should at least double EPNT speeds compared to other tests is the MIMO performance. EPNT has 4 antennas with 4 polarisations. Can theoretically give 4 independent data streams with each ones rate governed by SINR, RSRP, RSRQ you measured. EPNT's cross polarized antennas (compared to 4 linear omnis, for example) will product AT LEAST 2 independent streams giving potentially twice the data rate of even another setup with equally good signal. Can be higher if some reflective paths exist. 4 closely spaced same polarization antennas unlikely to produce much "MIMO speedup" in an open air scenario. Clearly the improved signal measured will also ensure each EPNT stream will be at higher QAM hence bitrate. Would be nice to see speed tests even though both of us know these are highly variable given base station capacity, variations over short time periods and other factors. Should however still show some of this MIMO benefits which is one of the really significant advantages associated with well designed xpol outdoor antennas. Take into account that going from, say 16QAM to 64QAM translates to 4 bits per symbol up to 6 bits/symbol. Two MIMO streams boost this to 12 b/symbol - no amount of signal improvement can produce this type of benefit 🙂Thanks for this effort
