Great Vid!!! My son just got into goal keeping. He has a talent for it. After watching this video he is 70% Sweeper and 30% Shot stopper! He’s great at both but plays the game as a sweeper! He looks just like Ochoa too😂. I’m new to this position as my son was intended to play mid but found a passion for goalie. I’ll support him. You’ve taught me a lot from this video. ❤ Keep it up!

Great points in the first few minutes alone. The keeper position has evolved the last couple of decades. Keepers gotta be good with their feet, just as much as they are with their hands nowadays, to be in the top tiers. Keepers with good reflexes, but can only punt the ball down the field, are a dime a dozen. A keeper that can actually start a play of attack as an additional field player? It's two players in one, basically.

I was am offensive player in high school (class of 1991), and I HATED that keepers could always pick up the ball. The worst was when the other team had a throw deep in their own corner and they just threw over my head the keeper. It was worse than a goal kick.
