#BruceDickinson #BackFromTheEdge #Skunkworks Renowned around the world as one of the greatest and most distinctive heavy metal vocalists of all time, Bruce Dickinson is best known as the lead singer of the iconic British band, Iron Maiden, who he joined in 1981 and who have sold well over 100 million albums. He has also become globally renowned as an author, pilot, broadcaster, brewer, businessman, sportsman, spoken-word performer, screenwriter and internationally successful solo artist.

His first solo album, Tattooed Millionaire, was released in May 1990, with its follow-up Balls To Picasso four years later (1994). It was on this second album that Dickinson first started working with guitarist Roy Z and despite a one album hiatus, he was joined again by him for all his subsequent solo studio albums - Accident Of Birth (1997), The Chemical Wedding (1998) and Tyranny Of Souls (2005).

Always on the back burner was a desire to create another solo musical project and in 2021 Dickinson finally had the opportunity to focus on that anew. He turned once more to Roy Z to work on some unfinished ideas together and that rapidly became his forthcoming seventh studio album: The Mandrake Project

My nickname in highschool was Maiden. As long time die-hard Maiden fan I have to say this is one of the best albums ever made. It was Skunworks what showed me what a true artist Bruce is. I hope more fans discover what a jewel this is.

Only Bruce's solo stuff can make me nostalgic for a time in which I wasn't yet born.

Everyone loved grunge as soon as it became mainstream in the 90s, even the legends of the industry had to admit that. You can tell Bruce fell in love with the sound because he said he thinks the best vocalists he had heard recently were Eddie Vedder and Chris Cornell. He also liked the band Skin Yard.

Saw this band at the Marquee in 1994 when I was 18, the gig was even released on the Live in Studio A album (I've kept the ticket in the CD case). I thought Bruce was staring at me before Laughing In the Hiding Bush and he made me feel embarrassed because he was. I also met Rod Smallwood before the gig in the foyet. I didn't do any talking because I had nothing to say, but we were in a group conversation. Anyway, there's my little story of watching this band. :^D

"Now and then I wonder where the faces from my childhood have gone"

this line always brings a tear to my eye and takes my mind back to the old neighbourhood... such an underrated gem of an album, personally i like it more than accident of birth (but not more than the chemical wedding)

I love this song! In fact the entire album is one of my favorite albums, so different, so weird and the same time so great!

First CD I bought from Bruce. This CD has a melancolic vibe, lots of lydians melodies. EPIC!
