Everything you must know about the NUX C-5RC!

Don't take my words for it but I think this cheap wireless guitar system (NUX C-5RC) may just be the best and cheapest you can get today! It nailed many of the features we want in wireless systems and the performance packs a punch!

Thank you NUX for sending me this device to have a go at it. Just for viewer's clarification, I only received a unit of C-5RC but are not told to make any videos or given any scripts/guidelines, or paid any money to do this video.

Also thank you Music Theme Singapore for their constant support in whatever I do! Go grab your NUX products from them if you are in Singapore!

What a great review! Thank you. Three years later, I recently got the NUX C-5RC, it's a really cool gear.

I was in the green room at the Whisky a Gogo in Hollywood with my rig on the stage, and I still had a perfect connection!

I had that very same interference issue with the 2.4 version they first released and the guys at the music store thought I was crazy lol. It worked with my EMGs and passive pick ups. But for some reason the NUX didn't work with my Seymour Duncan heavy metal Live wire pick ups. I did catch this fix some time after I returned them. I might try these !
Great video, Cheers!
I honestly think I might spend the money and just get a proper rack mount unit from Sure or something, tried and true kinda thing!

In the tone test, I feel like the noise floor was noticeably affected. It is hard to do a null test as no two performances are exactly the same - but I think a "close enough" approach might be found in just hitting something simple like an E chord and letting it ring out. In a null test, if the noise floor is all that is affected, then the noise would be all that is left. Just a thought.

Great review Vinnie! I may consider getting one for my Bass/Semi-acoustic

In the stairwell testing, it would have helped if you had the WAVES Clarity plugin to process the audio when you were speaking so to remove the sound of the wind and your drone. Great vid!

It fits the sunken jack of my Ibanez SR2600 bass.

A battery-life test would have been good. The battery level on mine went into the yellow after an hour at the most. Another hour and a half, it was into the red.

You did miss the fact that the system, at least the transmitter, shuts itself off after 10 minutes of no signal from the guitar or device. This is actually an excellent feature since normally one has to remember to shut off the transmitter and bend down and shut off the receiver at the pedal board during breaks and do the same in reverse when coming back after a break. Apparently users find that you just need to wake up the transmitter to get the system back online and the receiver tends to stay active. SO this removes the need to worry about forgetting the wireless system on and using up the battery during typical 30 to 40 minute set breaks. Given this system has about a 4 hour battery life on a single charge, one must be conservative with battery usage to insure one gets through a typical 3 set night with 45 min to 1 hour sets and 30/40 minute breaks in between. Very typically a 4 to 5 hour period not including sound check and initial set up etc. I love that Nuxx put in this auto shut off though I'd like it if they made it so it can be turned off as well for max flexibility.

The signal in unlike to go through concrete that think with steel reinforcing, but it would bounce off the walls and up the stairwell.

Hello I am a violinist. I have been using the NUX C5RC wireless device for last two years. The first one year, I was able to use this for 3 hrs continuously. Now the battery backup is not proper. Its draining in 1.5 hrs especially the transmitter battery even after charging it fully. So should I change the battery now? How to change or how to solve this in any other way. Pls suggest. Thanks in advance 🙏
