Ty for this info. I'm finally going to be getting one and these are the 2 my insurance will pay for. Wanted to see the difference. I'm type 2 and in 6 months went from 7.3 to 5 my doctor was shocked. I told her what I did and who I watched on YouTube and she said WOW again I still can't believe you did that. I lost weight, cut most all carbs out, no processed foods, and no pasta. Last is I started walking after each meal. My skin has healed back to normal and I feel so much better. I used the meter in beginning to see what foods did what and cut out all the ones that spiked my sugar. My next move is carnivore. Since cutting to almost no carbs I notice I am not sleepy anymore like I used to be. Ty again.

I have the 2 on NHS prescription. I wish they would swap it for the three, seems more accurate, smaller and no scanning.

Thanks for posting an informative review of the 2 CGM's. I'm T2 and have never used a CGM before but know I need one to help me make good decisions about what I eat. So far the Libre 3 is at the top of the list.

Based on the scanning process, looks like the Libre2 is NFC (near field comm - like contactless credit cards or GPay) and Libre3 is Bluetooth (10-33 foot range). Not all phones have the NFC feature, but most all phones have some version of Bluetooth (for speakers earbuds etc.). bluetooth is typically a single device, you'd have to switch back and forth between earbuds and Libre3. Future bluebooth may allow multiple devices. Bluetooth is more sensitive to interference and disconnections in some enviroments.

Any change in alarms? My son is switching to Dexcom G7 as there are several alarm options that don’t sound like a fire alarm going off.

I'd like to know more on a video or information on sugar lows n spiking at night. N even stress n relaxation to help with high sugars maybe if u have that.

Question. In the reader there should be a section in notes for stress n not enough sleep. And not just medication, food, exercise, medication, long or fast acting.. there should be relaxation n sleeping as well. 😊

HOW CAN YOU SET IT SO THE READINGS GO RIGHT TO THE LOG INSTEAD OF HAVING TO USE ADD NOTE?

Thanks for the comparison. I use the Libre 2 with the app on the phone, however a while ago the app would not read the sensor because it was not compatible. Is there a way to rectify this without having to not update your phone? I will be changing to the Libre 3. Does this have more adhesive around the monitor? Just a smidgeon more would help me get it to stick better to my arm. Thanks again for your info!

How different the needles length in those two? Is it pretty much the same ? I’m actually using libre 2 to monitor my dog’s glucose level who has type 1 diabetes but was curious if libre 3 also has the same length of the needle that comes out initial placement as libre 2. If so I would definitely like to give it a try since it updates automatically without physically tagging on to it :)

I know this isn't current but I am hoping you will answer anyway. My son has type 1 and uses dexcom g6. .He is so burned out on alarm fatigue. The company says you can turn off all alarms but urgent low. That is not true for us unless they don't count vibrating alarms as an alarm. We do count vibrating alarms as an alarm because the disrupt you just as much--especially sleep. When Libre says you can turn off alarms, do they mean vibrations included? Can you totally turn it off or just the audible alarms? We struggle with a number getting stuck on the high or low alarm and moving just enough to go off multiple times per hour . Which equals little sleep, high frustrations, distracted driving when it keeps buzzing, etc. All that also adds up to higher blood sugars. We had one yesterday that even with 15 units of insulin by shot, it went back and forth buzzing between 198-202. for 4-5 hours. It finally budged and went straight to the 70 line and did the same there for 4-5 hours --back and forth between 68-73. buzzing every time it crossed over the 70 going down. So major important to us is that you can completely disengage the alarms, audible and vibrate. And are you still finding Libre 3 to be accurate? more so than Libre 2?
