“This represents a strengthening of the alliance between the two countries. We will see more military drills and more dual use support, for Russia's war machine in Ukraine.”

Putin and Xi’s agreement to strengthen military ties and economic partnership after talks in Beijing is a “concern” for the West, says former correspondent in Moscow and Beijing Ian Williams.

You all are aware that US is trying to treat China as its enemy, right? So, how can China not react to that sort of mentality?

Russia and China each have their own problems. Their internal affairs is solely their
own affairs that no other nations should interfere.
As many other governments repeatedly
said, we are working fir the interest of our nations. It is 100% correct.
So, I think, Russia and China are of no difference with others, they only care for the interest of their nations.

To the Indian’s absolutely bumming Russia - “we love Russia”, “Russia is our best friend”, “Russia helped us”.
All I gotta say is….i told you so.

lol at absolute red line, the same red line nato has already crossed by already hypothetically sending weapons to this war in blatant escalation, while ignoring peaceful negotiations!

What nonsense. It is the US sending her aircraft carriers and battleships to the South China Sea. The US is more than 10000 km away. After the end of WW 2, the US also commited the most wars in the world. The US has 800s military and naval bases around the World and yet China is aggressive. Does that make sense to any thinking person?

It puzzles me how China and Russia have been aided by the west in their rise to power. I remember in the 80's my dad telling me China will be the country to watch out for in the future and he's far from a geopolitical analyst. If he knew it why didn't Western leaders? As for Putin and his cronies, they have always been gangsters and yet again, allowed to rise to power from nothing in the early 90s to an aggressive military dictatorship. I had a feeling things weren't going to go well in the early 2000s and we should have been prepared for this.

it's imperative that NATO now looks at more strongly supporting Ukraine, while also decoupling away from business with china - having US & EU countries move out of manufacturing, business in china ...

Biden increasing tariffs on china exports to US is a strong message of this, if Europe do the same, this will further weaken china's economy ...!!!

"Two men who are used to getting their own way" - for a western journalist to describe what is going on in such crass terms is a why China-Russia are successful. Ian Williams schools the child brilliantly here. I believe he is correct in his interpretation of these events. Russia is becoming a Chinese dependency and we will too if we're not careful [if we are not already].

I don't think this is anything for the West to be alarmed by. The West has NATO, QUAD, AUKUS, etc. The common denominator here is the United States.
