People said Bret was bitter.

If I lost countless close friends, my parents, two brothers, my career, had a debilitating stroke and had to battle cancer twice within a 25 year period, I would feel pretty pissed off at the world too.

Bret was one of those few guys that even if it was for only a couple of minutes, he made you believe that professional wrestling was not a work.

“He was always right.” Bret will always be one of the good guys.

Bret is my favorite wrestler of all time, and I love CM Punk is such a fan of him now. Punk said growing up he loved HBK but then went back and watched Bret and realized his matches aged better, had better ring psychological and looked more real. It changed the way he looked at the business. And it’s showing more now than ever, here in his “second” run. I’m loving this stuff, and that match they had (where CM Punk lost twice) is now one of my favorites all time. It was so good.

When Bret was saying he was “The best there was, the best there is and the best there ever will be” it emphasises he not only wanted to have better matches then we’d seen before but have matches that are still the best 25 years later. He succeeded.

Bret Hart’s matches are believable and in some ways his Montreal Screwjob match was the perfect match that transcended wrestling with reality and could be talked about 100 years from now.

Bret Hart is my all time favorite wrestler. I wish more wrestlers learned from him. Thank you, CM Punk.

Watched the vast majority of Bret’s career as a kid and was absolutely mesmerised by him the whole time. He just made you believe.

Bret Hart was the most believable wrestler I ever saw, and I've been watching since the mid-80's so that's a pretty long time. Nobody has come close to him in that regard since imo. He just had the ability to make you doubt, even if just for a minute, that the outcome of a match was pre-determined. He was the greatest.

Nice to see Bret getting some respect. Its hard to watch WWF from 1997 now with the Hart foundation to think Owen Neidhart Pillman and Bulldog are no longer with us is a real shame.

Bret and Owen were my two favorites growing up. Punk is probably my favorite currently active wrestler.

The thing about Bret that seperated him from so many others, making him better than even Shawn, was his giving. In a business where you climb over others, Bret stood head and shoulders above the lot of them.
I saw an interview where Sid speaks about Bret being selfish or what not in the ring, but it’s such a crock of shit.
Bret gave so many guys the platform. Think of Austin, think of Rock, think of Kid.
Kid has only the best to say about Bret.
Austin, loves Bret, as everyone knows. He often refers to Brets impact on his career! And the Rock man … he was doing a movie promo with emily blunt recently, and the interviewer had a Hitman shirt on, and mid interview, the Rock stops, and starts speaking about the dude’s tshirt, and his own love for the Hitman, and actually stated that when a lot of people backstage were mean and bullying him when he first came in, Bret stood up for him, guided him, took him to his interviews, and kept promoting him to Vince. And that kid who the fans use to chant “die Rocky die”, and was bullied backstage, became the damn Rock!

All said and done, Bret was pure class. He was royalty. There were many that were impressive, like Shawn.
But they were just wrestlers. Bret Hart was wrestling itself!
Damn shame he got injured when he did. He still had so much to give. I’ll never forget the clinic he put on with Benwa, and how Benwa broke down crying after the match, when he latched on to Bret. They had dedicated it to Owen.
He really is the best there is, was, and ever will be.
Props to Punk here!

A man who has a true love and gratefulness for what he's part of, and a deep appreciation and affection for those past, present and future who share that flame.

I remember Punk’s heel promo in WWE when he insulted Bret Hart. He was so convincing as a heel that I wouldn’t blame anyone for thinking he actually hated Bret at the time.

Bret Hart wrestled the right way ... but more importantly he acted the right way away from the ring too ... neve cut corners but more importantly he never cheated his way to the top ...
