Hazrat umme habiba wife of prophet Muhammad pbuh
Hazrat Umme Habiba (may Allah be pleased with her) was one of the wives of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). She was the daughter of Abu Sufyan, a leader of the Quraysh tribe in Mecca, and her original name was Ramla bint Abi Sufyan.
Umme Habiba accepted Islam in its early days, along with her husband Ubaydullah bin Jahsh. However, after the migration of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to Medina, her husband apostatized from Islam and migrated to Abyssinia with his new Christian wife. This left Umme Habiba alone and isolated in Mecca, until the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) sent a marriage proposal to her from Medina.
Umme Habiba accepted the proposal and migrated to Medina to join the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). She was a devout and pious Muslim, and was known for her knowledge and wisdom. She died during the reign of the Umayyad Caliphate, in the year 44 AH, and was buried in Jannat al-Baqi cemetery in Medina.
May Allah be pleased with her and grant her paradise.
