Driven to distraction: Pyongyang's 'traffic ladies'

Snapping their heads from side to side, marching into the roads in close-fitting blue uniforms and black heels, the "traffic ladies" who marshal vehicles at the intersections of Pyongyang are an emblematic image of the North Korean capital.

everytime I watch a video on north korea I'm counting the seconds until one of them mentions "our glorious leader"

There's really no reason to have a traffic police officer stationed at an intersection with traffic lights, but I suspect they're there for the frequent times when the electricity is off.

In Serbia traffic officers swing their batons, yell at you if you don't stop, sit in their cars and make more traffic jam then not working traffic lights 😂😂
