I got a valuable tip for making scale flooring from a dollhouse maker, once. He advised coloring the edges of the individual planks with a brown magic marker, before setting them. This really gives them definition.

When ever I have that fear about adding a wash I normally just test color on a scrap part it helps calm me down and builds my confidence when working on the actual part.

Norm should have his own section in the Playlists area. Hell, all members should. Still always love to see Norm when he was so obviously clueless till now, leading so many of his own awesome dios

Norm this looks amazing! The whole team at Iconiq is really happy you like him. I can't wait for you all to see what is coming next from this line.

You could paint the edges of the plywood base black so it will disappear and not distract from your floor.

You can lay down a coat of gloss varnish to separate layers of the paint job. That can protect you from mistakes. Like a save point in a game.
I might have gone with tea to stain the wood and a wire bbq brush to distress it. I was worried you would gouge a hunk out of the board with the chisel.

Adam Savage should be at the oscars someday to be a presenter for best visual effects

You can also age wood by abusing it. Boards this small, put them in a large bag with ball-bearings and small stones and then semi-gently agitate the bag to beat up the wood without breaking it. We did this with 12"x12" beams by dragging them behind a truck

A wire brush would be good for adding some texture to the planks. And some magnet wire for wiring the LED would be less visible. Nice work!

I use coffee stirrers alot at work when making scenery and dioramas.

For a realistic stain look into BEST they have multiple colors for different shades and colors and they can replicate what old wood looks like

You should paint the plywood black so it doesn’t stick out like a sore thumb

Personally, I would offset every other board to make it look more like real wood flooring at that scale, but awesome job!

I would love to see a more realistic repaint of this figure on this channel.

This gives me a great idea to make a honorable diorama for my 1989 Batman 1/4 scale figure! 👍❤️👍

wonder how handfull or two small rocks, kinda thinking aquarium bottom ish, in a bag larger than the "planks" would have done for roughing up the surfaces.

I grew up on Street Fighter 2 Turbo on the SNES. wish they had made the figure look like the SNES character.

Great work but those ankles on the model would really mess with my OCD, just looks a toy

See, I know what base you were going for, but my eyes kept seeing the dock from Camp Crystal Lake. So naturally my next thought was Jason Voorhees jumping out of the water to drag Ryu down below.
