Alright ya'll, imma say this ONCE. I literally was JUST informed about how MGK is a HUGE creep. I had no idea. I only know Megan, and then MGK through her. I literally stated in this video, that this video is NOT an in-depth researched video essay like my other videos. I really needed a break from that type of content because it's very heavy on me, so I wanted to do a more funny and light hearted video. Please do NOT think I'm trying to make MGK likable, I DO NOT support him. Just want to make that CLEAR. I think him and Megan are a perfect match because they're BOTH toxic. At the end of the video, I said the only thing I liked about them is I wish I could also be as cringe as them with someone I love. Because THEY ARE CRINGE ASF. It was supposed to be satire. In no way am I trying to make it normalized or cute. That is NOT a part of my character. So please stop assuming that is my intention.

Agree completely with your hot take on Encanto. When people try to force a narrative that isn't there, it, to me, cheapens the message the story was trying to say and makes any form of representation feel a bit forced. Encanto is about family and how they can be messy, you can suffer in silence from wanting to appease those you love, how your past trauma can make you unconsciously hurt those you love, etc. There really isn't anything there about the gay experience. As a gay man, I love seeing representation, but I think it's taking things too far when you try and make EVERYTHING gay in all media.

Side note, I feel it's kind of stereotyping when people say Luisa is lesbian or a trans woman. Just because a woman is physically strong, doesn't automatically mean they have to be a lesbian. Also, just because she has a muscular physique, doesn't mean she has to be trans. To me, that seems like it would be hurtful to trans women.

Hey! Colombian girl here!!! Although I 100% agree with what you said about Encanto, it's important to acknowledge that it wasnt "colonizers" killing the abuelo in the movie. It was much more probably guerrillas or paramilitar groups. Most of the current history of violence in our country was perpetrated either by the guerillas, or by military groups financed by narcos. Saying that they were colonizers, although relatable, blindfolds the history of our very long civil war.

For anyone reading this comment look into the peace treaty impulsed by Juan Manuel Santos, which for me was the step we needed to bring peace closer to us.

i live for the fact that we are finally seeing “euphoria” for what it actually is: hyper sexualization of teens.

So, here are some of my unpopular opinions:

1). The term "Karen" is starting to lose its original meaning.
2). Online/long-distance relationships are just as valid as physical/close-distance relationships.
3). "Wolf Girls" are crazier than "Horse Girls." (Speaking about stereotypes only. There's nothing wrong with having wolves or horses as your favorite animal.)
4). The only good thing about Valentine's Day is the candy, regardless of your relationship status.
5). There's nothing "cringe" about being a beginner artist/story writer, y'all are just mean.

They are doing WHAT to Encanto?! 😦😦 My heart broke when Abuela said: “I thought I would be a different woman.” And they are just ignoring how broken she must have been after loosing her home and husband with 3 kids and no certain future… ugh.

Anyone who watches Euphoria and romanticizes the actions in the show are not comprehending how terrible the events are. I know teenagers say what happens in Euphoria reflects the struggles they go through, yeah yeah. Sadly younger people are watching that show even though it’s not for them.

THANK YOU. Like why can’t woman be strong without being called trans woman as if the only way to be strong is to have transitioned from male to female or something..?? Woman are strong that doesn’t make us “manly” like wtf?? Also trans woman aren’t manly?? They’re also woman- that’s incredibly disrespectful. It really angers me with all of these things people are saying about these characters, my dad and I watched Encanto the day it came out in theaters together, and my dad, a grown a** man- bursted out crying. My dad and I are both Hispanic as well, and I can just imagine how happy he was to finally see us getting the representation we deserve… he literally saved the whole soundtrack and dances to it while helping with chores. I love my dad lol.

(Edit: I edited my original comment here to word what I said better and to clear any confusion that I was attempting to be hateful, I meant absolutely no harm with my comment, I just worded it very stupidly at first, and for that I’m sorry. I’m sorry if I truly hurt anyone’s feelings.)

(P.P.S. - We should make the word “womanly” more of a thing 😊)

I hate that celebrities and influencers are promoting crypto and NFTs to children. I wish people with children as their majority demographic would get sanctioned for it.

As a high school teacher, I’m staring to see the changes in personality of my students, they are morphing into the characters of euphoria and it is bad, they to talk. About how toxic their crushes and partners are

Luisa is the best. Nice to see a strong woman actually having muscles. And speaking of the pressures of family. She was my absolute fave.

Luisa being interpreted as a trans woman was super shallow. Only based on her looks/muscles. The other Madrigal women were not being headcanoned as trans. It showed to me that people are still perpetuating the harmful idea that person's transness only depends on how they present/how their body looks rather than how they identify with their gender.
Just sad.

Edited for clarity on what i mean by 'presents'

I think the "coolness" of various characters can be an issue on Euphoria. Rue is played by a charismatic and gorgeous actress, and that's not necessarily going to be masked by bad grooming/styling or makeup that makes her look sickly. What about addicts or people with other issues who happen to be plain-looking, boring, annoying, etc.? I think we can admire Zendaya's portrayal, and at the same time, wish for other portrayals that show that a person with drug addiction or mental issues can still be lovable and sympathetic even if she isn't cool. Let similar protagonists be dorky, whiny, plain-looking. Make her inner monologues silly and inarticulate. And present her as a worthy heroine anyway. I guess what some people with trauma take issue with is the implication that people can have sympathy for them *only* if they're as cool, gorgeous, etc, as Rue, Jules, etc.
Hm. I guess what I really want is more variety. Euphoria can still be there, but let's also have some other shows that are more naturalistic and less glamorized.

anyone who doesn’t understand abuela’s storyline from encanto didn’t have ethnic grandparents. she was literally a perfect example of my grandma: someone who grew up with parents who were refugees from a genocide, during a food shortage, with years of trauma who immigrated so their family would have a better life. i grew up constantly under her scrutiny because she wanted the best for me so i completely understood abuela.

my own hot take: we as LGBT people need to stop headcannoning Disney characters as LGBT+ and actually make Disney put CANON LGBT+ characters in their movies.

Eleanor Neale is the ONLY person I watch for true crime commentary. She’s very respectful about it. She just sits and talks. Shows photos, gives warnings, gives her quick options and moves on, she’s amazing. I love her 💕

i see many people headcanoning isabela as a lesbian, because they can’t comprehend a woman not wanting to be arranged married to a man as anything else. Marriage to keep up familial expectations and HONOR in many poc cultures is common, and usually not done for love. seeing white people remove cultural context makes me AAHHH
- edit: not saying ppl in her situation can also not be queer! im queer and am most definitely gonna be in that situation, but i dont think ppl reading it as JUST a queer story are right. in my experience the reputation of the community is more important than the individual (could be a good or bad thing)

Also — the new s3x and the city (and just like that) is a PRIME example of forcing “diversity” narratives into stories. I hope that we just learn STOP that, because representation should be well thought out and well-rounded.

100% agree on everything, especially the euphoria thing. I remember watching SKINS as a 13 yr old and I thought my life had to be as fucked up as Effy’s life was. Shows like that can have such a big impact on kid’s lives.

girl, I respect your unpopular opinions even the one about true crime, I'm a fan of Bailey Sarian and her series but you made a pretty good point on speaking about someone else's tragedy.
