The office is a hostile, corporate political land mine, at times toxic, and stressful... no thanks. I am far more productive and happier working from home as much as possible, where I can focus on the tasks at hand.

I've been strictly working from home for the last 5 years. Won't ever take a position that requires commute to physical office buildings again. That time is over.

You mean back to the place where grown adults act like they are in HS still? No thanks.

Why would they come back? Everyone works more at home. And they can also take care of kids. This is ridiculous. Old companies who don’t honor their employees are dinosaurs.

Micromanagement at it's most blatant. Most of those employees will probably quit if they have to come back anyway. Let them work from home.

NOPE. I like not paying $5/gallon for gas, unless it’s for fun family activities. WFH is great.
If California truly means what they say, why not roll back the most ridiculous gas taxes in the entire country?

I work in civic center but rarely go out for lunch and I leave the city immediately after work. I don't want to spend a minute more in the city than needed. It's horrifying to have to witness crimes, see junkies and drug dealers on the streets, people defecating, shoplifting...

Literally no point. Covid showed most office jobs and more can be done at home. Sure the occasional in office day make sense but not full time

They want people back in the office to support the economy but we must realize how significantly the economy has changed and is changing.

working at home is less stressful, don't have to spend 40 min. driving to and from work, don't have to deal with office politics...

Yeah that answer is just say no. They will send out the email saying it's about time to get back to normal. But hold strong and say no. They have projects to get done, they will need people to work on them. It costs way too much to
onboard some newbies.

For now they _urge_ later they won’t give you an option….and back into the Bay Area’s _horrendous_ traffic.

Covid will be back around election times

maybe the companies should find a smaller office so they pay less rent and can justify having less people in the office instead of having these mega complexes that span acres and take up land that could've been affordable housing

I had no idea Newsom was a graduate of Klaus Schwab's WEF leadership program. It all makes sense now.

My company is forcing its employees back to the office. Those who want to work remotely face a 25% pay cut or even 30% in some cases. I work in IT so I had to be in office most of the time because someone has to be here to reboot someone workstation when it goes offline.

Bunch of spineless cowards reporting back to the office because their corporate masters said so. They didn't even have the nerve to stand up for themselves. Absolutely pathetic.

If they're your employees, then why do you have to "urge" them to return?

What happened to the new normal? It was all a false narrative?

We're going to be right back to the beginning again. History tends to repeat itself, is that how the old saying goes?
