a lot of the stars in our sky are already dead, we have the light of them leftover from the time it took for it to travel here. new stars are born constantly, we will not die if the ones here now are not there. that being said, if the star our solar system is orbiting dies (and it will, in millions/trillions of years, though humans will likely be long dead by then) that would be something that would actually kill us lol
