I don't care what anybody says, this was single-handedly one of the most disturbing movies I've ever seen. And I'm an avid horror watcher. I've seen salo, I've seen a Serbian film, I've seen irreversible. And while those are graphic in nature, this was a mentally disturbing movie. To take possession and anorexia and put them together like that, and not even have a delivery till the middle of the movie was amazing. So I just want to say, anyone that wants to give this movie a chance you will not be disappointed in my opinion. Well it might not have been very graphic, the mental aspect of this movie was just disturbing.

Great movie, I had a little different take on the movie, in the beginning she had no idea about her future, the pressure to not disappoint her mom and found a way to deal with the uncertainty of her future made her in a depressed mental state, not eating, lying about her weight, not wanting to deal with life. What made me sick was the mom helped her slowly commit suicide, her daughter wanted away out.. I would have never promised that, I would have got her some help. I give this a movie 5 out of 5 stars.

Spoiler: So I gather the daughter is suffering from the same symptoms as the mom and essentially does not overcome it. With that, the mom became heartbroken and essentially, died of a broken heart. Yes? Either way it was very good and gives an interesting take on anorexia & bulimia.

I don't know why anyone believed the daughter was anorexia because she weight the same every single day no weight loss. Got an interesting point from the grandmother that the mother once needed professional help for her mental illness. The daughter changed after she took that powder the drug and it was a red moon that same night. She went out into the woods and returned weird. Now no one going to tell me she was not possessed. Fact she didn't loss no weight confirmed it. The mother herself asked Dom if he pray and he said yes. Got the idea the mother doesn't understand that in order of a prayer being answer she must believe and have faith. She had neither and didn't bother to call for emergency help. Shouldn't have promise her daughter not to.

Trauma triggered delusions and anorexia. Both mother and daughter are victims. I don't think there is supernatural element here because the weight scale was shown rigged at the end. The end scene also a hallucination by the mother.
Overall its a Disturbing drama.

The story of the psychologically disturbed mother and the daughter.. there is nothing supernatural in the movie, the fact that the mother sees the light in the last scene is just her hallucination.. my regards to the person who put this movie in the category of horror.. At best, it could be a lousy psychological thriller.

Oh and the green peas are the perfect thing in the one scene because I, have always found them strangely unnerving to eat. The way the skin erupts to expose the inner core is unsettling.

This movie is a very good representation of current society.

Lack of the mother's will and strenght led to her daughters death caused by her own dellusion. She could have been saved if the mother undertook necessary steps to make a reality check.

This puts an interesting perspective how deluded children are allowed to go through certain... procedures by their weak-willed parents.

Plus an overall lack of a strong father figure.

Interesting take.

I'm trying to guess the ultimate goal of this film, so the red moon is the intermediary for the transfer of something like an alien of whatever form (maybe this is the ghost of this film) that makes humans as hosts and indoctrinates their minds (bats and their mother) if life after they merge will be much better . so the essence of this film is the alien invasion through the red moon on the people they choose and poison their minds with the lure of a beautiful life after giving up their body to be used by the alien. yes it's a shame they don't clearly show it clearly
