This was his best option. Their personalities really vibed together. She was a lot more fun than fuka and fit in with his friend group plus his sister really likes mimimi. She’s the first one to truly make a move and cry over him and first girl to really show endearment towards him even giving him nicknames. I don’t blame the author for going the fuka route but I think majority of fans thought mimimi was the best choice. Fuka to me seemed like an introductory character to drive home the point that tomazaki shouldn’t date someone just cuz aoi gives it to him as a task. If anything seemed like he didn’t truly like Fuka, then suddenly tomozaki just falls for her out of nowhere in the last episode when originally he purposely didn’t tell her he liked her even tho aoi gave it to him as a task. Seriously I think mimimi would’ve been a way better choice. But aoi did say “his first playthrough” so maybe him and Fuka will break up, and he’ll date mimimi or someone else and eventually end up with aoi since I think she secretly likes him cuz he’s the only dude better than her at something and she’s impressed at how good he is at the game of life when he actually tried. She even said he could choose to date her. I find it weird he just ignored that bit of info in the anime. I personally think it seems like aoi is trying to turn the only guy she can’t beat into someone of comparable social standing to her so she can date him without lowering her own perfect heroine persona. I think she likes tomozaki secretly and is partly why she’s helping him. She’s a big manipulator. Once he becomes the most popular guy she’ll swoop in and steal him.
