Ontario to explore building expressway under Hwy 401 in the GTA – September 25, 2024

Ontario Premier Doug Ford announces his government is exploring the feasibility of building a transit tunnel under Highway 401 in the Greater Toronto Area. He is joined at the press conference in Etobicoke by provincial ministers Prabmeet Sarkaria (transportation) and Kinga Surma (infrastructure).

The premier continues to face questions over his recent remarks that healthy, unhoused people need to start working. He is also pressed by reporters on whether his government will call an early election.
