Honda CB650R | 3 Ways Traction Control 'SAVED' me

Показать описание
Traction control is one of those tech that has trickled down from larger capacity bikes to smaller bikes and in this category of motorcycles it is a rarity that traction control is fitted to a bike in this category. Fitted on the Honda CB650R is the HSTC (Honda Selectable Torque Control).

In this video I will show you how the traction control has activated during my experience riding this bike.

0:00 - Intro
0:29 - TC display on HUD and toggle
2:25 - Ducati Monster wheelspin
2:47 - Scenario 1 - Slippery surface
3:02 - Scenario 1 - Slippery surface in action video
4:44 - Scenario 2 - Speeding through a speed bump
5:07 - Scenario 3 - Accidental wheelie
5:23 - Scenario 3 - Accidental wheelie in action video

Thanks, brother! I haven’t touched the traction control on my CB650R. Haven’t really understood what it does. Thanks!!

Excellent demonstration of the operation of the HSTC. I will have my new CB650R Neo Sports Cafe soon and have been reading about this feature. You show us very clearly the moments where it works. Great video! Thanks!

Traction control on my XMax saved me a few times. It's not about the power of the engine, it's more about road condition, so I would say all bikes should have it.

It's amazing in the first video of how fast traction control stands up a bike. I've never seen it in slow motion like that

i think this stuff saved me a couple times... :D I ride in winter too (when its above freezing point of course) and the roads are so slippery and at high rpms the back wheel always want to spin out

Thanks bro! I’m buying this bike and I wasn’t sure how effective the traction control would be. Looks like it can definitely save you from disaster. I wish the wheelie control was separate from the TC though.

Very useful. I'm a new rider, and the cb650r is my 1st bike, so I always wondered in which kinds of situations I'd need the traction control.

Maybe it's not neccessary but it's better to have it than not. Thanks for showing this.

Yeah, first time it activated on mine it was quite scary.

Its not very smooth because our bike is not ride by wire. That's why the quickshifter is up only, and why it doesnt have any cruise control.

But in the 3000km i've done on mine it has saved me more than once. Some of the roundabouts where I live are very polished, and slippery. It also works nice when encountering debris like sand or gravel.

In my opinion, every bike should have it. It has actually saved my ass more times than ABS has.

i Experienced the same thing two days ago, accidental wheelie on a green light, i was a bit enthousiastic when the green light went on and the HSTC kicked to counteract my optimistic twist of the wrist !

I hate that toggle, TBH. I keep hitting it when I'm going for the clutch, especially in bad weather when I'm wearing thicker gloves. Which is exactly when you'd want TC not to be accidentally switched off.

I've put 20, 000 km on my CB650R. Always disable Traction control. Rode on road, wet, rain, semi-off roads, track, never had problem.
Sure, I slipped rear wheel a few times in deep lean cornering / U turns, but good delicate throttle hand saved me every time

You should test ride a Trident 660 when it comes available later and compare
