4:24 yeah. Those GEVO engines are LOUD and can be heard from miles away. When I’m waiting for a freight train, I put my ear up to the track. (With a wash cloth so I don’t get any metal shavings on my ear) and I hear a distinct distant rumble from VERY far away. And it takes about half an hour for the freight train to get there.

I love seeing the Amtrak trains. In my youth, my grandmother frequently plied the rails between our town and my aunt's home near Clemson. We would take and pick her up from the local Depot. Mama frequently rode the early morning coach, the Crescent, or the Piedmont Limited when going to Atlanta and shopping at Rich’s Department Store. Rich’s was one block away from Terminal Station, which served Southern Railways, the Atlanta and West Point Railroad, the Central of Georgia, and the Seaboard Air Line(and the same from Union Station, which served the served the Georgia Railroad, Atlantic Coast Line, and Louisville and Nashville/Nashville, Chattanooga and St. Louis Railway). Alas, when Amtrak was formed, Southern opted out. The Atlanta and West Point did not. We lost our passenger train service; Southern Railways trains went to all Southern routes. Suddenly, we were driving to Atlanta.
The private varnish on the second Amtrak appeared to be in Illinois Central colors.

You can always tell that unmistakable sound of the rumble of a freight train with the turbos, prime movers and traction motors and just the roar of a train, flanged steel wheels rounding the bend and those air horns!🛤🚂

6:19 that’s what I like to hear at night. Although unfortunately I don’t live close enough to the tracks for me to hear a horn over the fan that I turn on so I can sleep. Even with it off, it still would be a tiny bit tricky to hear a distant Horn. But if listen with my window open, I can hear it.

If CSX 009 gets any shorter, they can dispense with the rail cars and just run a couple of engines by twice a day to make yhings look good.
