fixing a battery leak on this unused casio divers watch

A little introduction….

My names lee, I am in the united kingdom, and I am obsessed in old casio watches, mainly resin, digital watches, from the 1980s and and 1990s. Over the years I have collected over 300 of them,

On this channel I will be displaying some of the rarest casio watches ever made, most we have forgotten about. My collection consist of mostly 80s era and some in the 90s.

DISCLAMER - after an hour sitting on my desk, it fired up. im going to give it a few more days and not touch it

You need to decontaminate battery cages, including contacts and circuit board, by full submerging them in isopropyl alcohol for a while and then wiping the board dry with a q-tip or similar. This will revive full functionality

I'm no expert(at anything) :D but what about taking it all apart again & leaving it in a dry place for a few weeks & maybe that will dry up the acid stuff in it better er maybe :D Glad you got it fired up now tho 👍 😎

To remove acid damage use some cloudy ammonia to neutralise it.

Its look like you need to clean the screen black contacts (the 2 black thing that contact between board and the screen, it can take off and on)

Have you tried contacting Casio to see if they would service this watch? Just more curios than anything

Think there must be some loose connection inside the board, you must try again and revive it, it will definitely come to life again. Its an awesome looking watch need a full review on it soon.
