Didn't know USAF jets had tail chutes. I've never seen one on models other than the export versions (Netherlands, Belgium, Greece, etc)

Why was the chute used ? and is that a custom feature ? i wasnt aware of f16s having parachutes

NO NO NO! You are supposed to turn the exhaust pipe to the side, rev up to make the chute blossom and then release it making it fly over on the grass next to the runway.

this is short field landing for the f16? I would assume its used to much longer distance compared to civilian airports/
