I donated 50 dollars, which was a lot of money at that time for me. I really hope they can restore this architectural treasure back to its splendor. Seems like they're doing everything they can do to make it historically accurate. So many people around the world are rooting for all the people involved in this important restoration. ❤

It was in the roof. There is no way a cigarette butt could do that. A blow torch from a construction worker left on however could do that.

I like how they are redoing it proper minus modern cranes but you can’t help that but love how they are doing medieval log squaring techniques and it they medieval artisan work

It sucks that such a beautiful piece of history was destroyed but hearing how many artisans they were able to hire for it made me happy. Like I am sure a lot of them are only used to doing touch up jobs on smaller buildings and don't get many opportunities like rebuilding a massive cathedral. I love that they were able to hire so many people who are almost all definitely deeply passionate for what they do.
