Nixon's discretions were "Church Picnic" stuff compared to the Clintons, Bush Jr., Obama, and Biden things. Nixon was an extremely qualified president and had tons of experience plus he was probably one of the most skilled diplomats and a foreign relations expert.

If anyone has ever listened to the impromptu speech he gave to his staff the day before he resigned where he talks about a handful of things including his mother and how she was a saint. It’s one of the greatest speeches ever given by a president in the history of this country. And it was at the lowest point a man could be in his position and tears flowed from his eyes and he was raw and visceral and you just know you’re looking at a man who is genuine and sincere in his love for his country.

He shouldn't have resigned. Goldwater gaslighted him. He would have mustered 34 votes in the Senate. The loss of his Presidency was a catastrophe for the country.
