Article 368-- Procedure regarding Constitutional Amendments
Majorities under this are 4 types
1. Absolute Majority
2. Effective Majority
3. Simple Majority
4. Special Majority

1.Absolute Majority
Majority of more than 50% of the total membership of the House

Cases: Uses during General Elections, for the formation of govt at Centre and States

2. Effective Majority
Majority of more than 50% of the effective strength of the House

Cases: Removal of Vice President of the Rajya sabha ( Article 67(b) )

3. Simple Majority
Majority of more than 50% of the members present and voting

Cases: Removal of Vice President of the Lokh Sabha
To pass Ordinary/ money/ finance bills

4.Special Majority
This is classified into 4 types
i. Special Majority as per Article 249
Majority of 2/3 members present and voting

Cases: To pass Rajyasabha resolution to empower parliament to make laws in the state list

ii. Special Majority as per Article 368
Majority of 2/3 rd members present and voting supported by more than 50% of the total strength of the House

Cases: To pass Constitutional Amendment Bills which does not affect federalism
Removal of CAG

iii. Special Majority as per Article 368 +State Ratification
Majority of the 2/3rd members present and voting supported by more than 50% of the State Legislature by simple Majority

Cases: To pass Constitutional Amendment Bills which affect federalism
Best example NJAC

iv. Special Majority as per Article 61
Majority of 2/3rd members of the total strength of the House

Cases: For Impreachment of Indian President
