My assumption is that the car is very light and the engine is very well built, so at low revs it is easy for the engine to drive the car forward so it doesn't need a lot of power. The new conventional cars are of the same or heavier weight but the engines are small and it is difficult for theam to carry the machine forward so the fuel consumption is larger.

Ive got the maserati quattroporte with a version of this engine in. Mine is the 3.8 v8. Its 550bhp in my maserati but i absolutely love it because its huge to fit my family in. Your ferrari is a unusual colour never seen that colour before what made you buy that colour?
