Tamirat Tola is an amazing marathon runner. The top 16 all ran under 2h 10m. Tebello Ramakongoana of Lesotho ran a national record in 7th place and Yaseen Abdalla of Sudan ran a national record in 33th place.
Ser-Od Bat-Ochir of Mongolia finished in last place, 12 minutes after the second-to-last place finisher, but he still finished the race and that also takes strength.
