UAEngage Spring 2023 Keynote 'Quiet Leadership' with Dean Nance

Dean Cynthia Nance is the Nathan G. Gordon Professor at the U of A School of Law and recipient of the 2023 Association of American Law Schools Ruth Bader Ginsberg Lifetime Achievement Award.
She gave the spring 2023 keynote for the UA ENGAGE NSF Advance Program at the U of A, a grant focused on supporting faculty in STEM who are women and women of color on campus.
The keynote is titled "Quiet Leadership."
Women often engage in quiet leadership. In many fields where they are underrepresented, they naturally serve as role models and sponsors for other women and, often by necessity, advocate for policies that enable women to succeed.
The keynote was held from 4-5 p.m. April 4 in the Faulkner Performing Arts Center.
Nance earned her B.S. degree magna cum laude from Chicago State University, her J.D. with distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law, and an M.A. from the University of Iowa College of Business. She teaches Labor and Employment Law, Workplace Legislation, Lawyers as Leaders and Poverty Law.
