Jeremy Irons (born Jeremy John Irons on September 19, 1948)- is an English actor and activist. After receiving classical training at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, he began his acting career on stage in 2969 and has appeared in many West End Theatre productions , including Shakespeare's plays The Winter's Take, Macbeth, Much Ado About Nothing, The Taming of the Shrew and Richard II. In 1984, he made his Broadway debut in Tom Stoppard's The Real Thing and received a Tony Award for Best Actor. He has appeared in several significant and controversial films in his illustrious acting career such as, The French Lieutenant's Woman, Madame Butterfly, Damaged and Reversal of Fortune wherein he won the 1990 Academy Award for Best Actor. He ,likewise appeared in television series like Brideshead Revisited and The Borgias.

September in the Rain was written in 1937 by Harry Warren (music) and Al Dubin (lyrics). It was introduced by James Melton in the film Melody for Two .
