I read a lot of amazon reviews on this keyboard and they are rather bad. The folding hundred plastic covers break easily, the space bar is not registering in many cases, the keyboard without the dongle version won’t be capable to be used if rebooting macOS.

This isn't correct, this does have passthrough, I've connected it to virtually every pc and laptop and tablet at home 😅 and used it seamless
