Too often we teach our kids that Black history begins with slavery, at least that’s all that I remember being taught in school. That has to have an impact on Black folk to some degree. Slavery, discrimination and oppression is not the origin for Black folk, the roots run much deeper and are much richer than they teach. 💪🏾
