I absolutely love when you give us those super close ups! Really makes you realise just how tiny the algae is. <3

The tank turning green was actually perfect with the alien theme 👽

I’ve wondered about this kit, nice to finally see one in action. Agree. I like the UFO theme. In fact I’d like to see more themed Sea-Monkey tanks to choose from. My favorite thing about this kit is the spoon. (I’ve got a weird fondness for the feeding spoons.) One more video down, John. 799 to go.

After watching a ton of your videos last week I went out and after searching in a bunch of stores I finally found a Sea Monkeys kit with just the packets. I set them up Wednesday night and I by Friday morning I saw the first ones swimming around. Thanks for so much helpful information!

maybe the sudden increase in algae was from the growth food? you said you couldn't identify it, maybe the producer put algae bits in there to promote growth? regardless, those brine shrimp are having the time of their lives

I recently upgraded my 1 gallon jar to a 2 gallon tank! still the same colony, been thriving for over a year with no need to extra feeding or egg addition. I just top off with fresh water/fertz and do about 20% water change every 3 months or so. i do feed the big juicy ones to my betta to keep the population down, which was the whole reason i started in the first place. I hatch live baby brine for my rasboras, and betta gets adults now. everyone is thriving. Never could have kept the adults alive without your guidance, thanks so much! 😊

You could probably take the base out and put it back the other way around so the magnifying bubbles are on the back. The snaps seem like they'd fit either way around.

I'm always happy whenever a new Picocosmos video drops, keep being awesome man.

I'm a big fan of the magnifying bubbles, but I've never attempted to record live, close-up footage, so I understand your frustration. Sometimes the Sea-Monkeys dart about quickly & sometimes they glide more sedately. My favorite occurrence is when one moves its legs rapidly, but it sort of hovers in one space, as if tethered to something invisible. It looks a bit like a salmon or something, swimming against the current, only there is no current. And having written that, now I'm wondering if this was a sign that a particular Sea-Monkey wasn't a hundred percent fit... Another great video though, & yet another (new to me) kit. Thanks!

Inspired by this channel to buy my own little sea monkey kit! Very excited to try my hand at taking care of my own colony of puddle-loving aliens.

Yes! I've been so ecstatic! You had better luck than I did in hatching the old eggs, mine didn't hatch at all, which is why I included those extra eggs just in case xD. I'll admit I did feel a little faint when I saw you cut notches into the lid 😱! But its your tank and you can do whatever you want with it xD. I was so surprised at seeing the algae growth, mine only grew algae on the bottom sides of the walls and it wasn't much, then again I didn't feed my Sea-Monkeys the Alien food it came with. Pretty sure I accidentally threw it away thinking it went bad 😅 (shouldn't have done that if it gave these results). I measured how much water it fills at the line and it's exactly 12 liquid ounces, which is what is recommended for growing Sea-Monkeys with the official packets. This was such a good review! Oh! And thank you for the mention xD! Hope you have a great week!!!

I've seen bits of a larger brine shrimp tank in some of your videos. I'd love to see an in-depth video on that tank at some point!

There is something about your videos that I just love! I never would have thought I would be so interested in sea monkeys 😂 but I love watching your videos and seeing how passionate and informed you are about these little guys! Thank you, and keep up the great work! 😊

i remember being a kid and my mother refusing to let me have sea monkeys, and then being a teenager when this kit came out and it was so extremely my aesthetic and i was hoping for so long to have enough allowance money to get it (i never really got an allowance though) so getting to see it in action made my day ahh!!! just came from the sea monkey packets video 🥰
