How To Fix airodump-ng Error With wlan0mon Linux

Here is how to fix errors Linux with wlan0mon and running the airodump-ng command. A error comes up sometimes saying "ioctl(SIOCSIWMODE) failed: Device or resource busy"

Here are the commands to fix it.

ifconfig wlan0mon down
iwconfig wlan0mon mode monitor
ifconfig wlan0mon up

i don't understand why when i write that command(airmon-ng start wlan0) my ethernet conections disapear.

trying to run airodump i get an input/output error. the only thing I found is that it's a memory error, but i'm running this on 16 gb of ram and I got 8gb free on the USB drive. I don't see how it could be a memory error.

for me when i do airodump-ng wlan0mon it works but underneath BSSID no handshakes appear, is this because i have no external wireless usb installed?
