The year is 2014, and it is a perfectly clear day. Me and my brother are lying on a beautiful vacant beach, and it's my first time doing shrooms. We start peaking on 3.5 grams and rolling around in the white sand and feeling as though we were related to the earth. I look at the massive tree trunk that lies on the beach, and the patterns on it slightly move in a wave like motion. I climb onto it and smoke a joint at the end, overlooking the ocean and mountains in the distance (which is actually my profile photo).

As we start coming down, we lie on the mats that we brought to the beach and make a pastel painting, laughing our asses off at the ridiculous abstract face we drew. We start to chill a bit more and go into a really deep conversation. He throws this beattape Idealism - rainy evening on the portable speaker, and we talk about how good we have it compared to some others in history, and how ridiculous it is how our whole society glamourizes wealth without much regard for other people when we start to realize relationships are worth more than objects. When Nagashi comes on, the beat hits me so hard that I can feel tears in my eyes, and I feel very grateful for everything I have when thinking about people who have been through horrible things. I tell myself that after this day I won't take anything in my regular life for granted again.

We listen to the beat tape on repeat for at least 6 times as the sun sets, then get in our sleeping bags and sleep under the stars. By now the shrooms are barely noticeable, but when you focus on the stars can see them form slight patterns once in a while. We stay up all night talking about the past and what we'd like the future to be. Before we know it, the sun comes up behind us, and we see the full cycle of the sun again. I take my dog for a long beach walk, thinking about the day that happened. I feel physically awake, but mentally tired from such a mental journey.

It's almost 2020 now, and I hadn't heard this beat tape since then, after I spent a long time trying to find it again. As soon as it came on, I got a feeling that took me right back there. Though I should be studying for a university calculus final that's tomorrow, I felt as though I needed to write this. To anyone out there thinking of doing psychedelics, I really recommend thinking strongly about the set and setting beforehand. Make sure you have everything you need (water, food, music, activities etc.), and that you have at least two days off afterwards to reflect. (Also make sure you won't have to worry about anyone like parents knowing you're under the influence.) You can get a lot out of it if you do it right. And once you do it once, in my opinion you won't need to again as long as you reflect on the experience.

Thanks to whoever for reading this whole thing! Spread that love

I used to listen to Idealism's songs back in high school, especially nagashi. I was really struggling back then. As I look on the past 5-6 years, I've been lucky enough to study abroad and travel all around the world. I reunited with one of my best friends in South Korea after 8 years of keeping in touch, visited Japan and Thailand had very special experiences there. I explored Tokyo all by myself, wondering the streets, checking out different bars and prefectures, even visited some places I had wanted to go since I was a kid. I will say that the way this all happened was unexpected, but the opportunity did come at the right time. This song brings up a lot of emotions for me. I realize how far I've come along my journey. I'm grateful to have made it this far, and if you're reading this, I know you will too. Be proud of how far you've come, be grateful for the little things, don't ever give up <3

Also to the person reading this, I hope you have a good day, and I hope that you keep your dreams alive. One day, you will see them come true. Don't ever lose hope or give up. Be proud of yourself.

Excellent music for when I'm drawing and painting, driving late at night, chillin with a friend talking about life, thinking about life, and enjoying the time I spend doing simple tasks. This is good background music of just living in a moment.

the 2nd short riff, gives me a vision of being perfect for the interlude of a movie. Scene setting: actor/actress walking in cityscapes, because a twist in the plot has occurred, sharp cuts of the city venues in rainy night scenes, you are identifying with the protagonist as she/he walks around the city, and it all dissolves as the song concludes. Plot you can supply, the theme, this song sets, it's serious, no comedy here.

I'm listening to this while chilling in my armchair, knowing it's my first day of my summer holidays, smoking some pott and having the balkony door to my right left open, so i can hear the raindrops on my little table outside.. it's wonderful
