One MAJOR problem with this. On the official lua website it says the latest version is 5.4.6
But when installing lua this way, in the command prompt when calling lua version, it says v5.1.5
Which means we are all using an older version that is open to security flaws that was patched by Lua Org official website.
So why are we using older version, when we SHOULD be using the current version of 5.4.6 instead of 5.1.5 ? 🤔🤷‍♀

man lua should really give better instructions on how to install and start working with it, or they could just hire you! great tutorial straight to the point worked first try and saved my day, this video deserves more attention. Thank you!

Well, thank you for the tutorial. I would like however to point out that you missed making a second entry in the path environment variable :
the one pointing to the lua folder
Indeed with what you have done, the binaries in the lua folder (so lua54 and the other) will never be called. only the version packed with Lua dist will, when typing lua in a terminal.

pls make a tutorial about how to install luafs via luarocks on windows... putting luafs´s exe into the lua folder and then using it is no problem, but installing luafs or something else is. It downloades the packages fine but then gives me an error "failed to build" and something with like "needs to be executed in a visual studio dev terminal". But as i tried that it wont work as well.... Please help me 🙏

Thanks! Works fine for me on Windows 10. It would be more efficient to just rename the extracted folder' to 'lua' and then move the contents of the 'lua-5.4.2_Win64_dll17_lib' to 'lua'.
