For those wondering, the reason his name is localized as Gaming instead of Jiaming, it’s likely because it is very intentionally the Cantonese pronounciation. Lion dancing is more of a Southern Chinese thing than it is Northern, and the design of his lion mask is definitely more in line with the Southern styles. He also mentions eating dim sum here, and dim sum is explicitly cuisine originating from Guangdong (Canton)

When I was a kid and we'd visit relatives during Lunar New Year, there was one year where a relative hired a Lion Dance troupe to perform for the whole extended family. That was a really nice and expensive thing for them to do (most people will only ever see Lion Dancers performing at at large shopping malls or at a fancy restaruant opening). The dancers not only danced, they peeled mandarin oranges and a pomelo (basically the lion 'eats' a fruit so the dancers can peel it and then 'spits' out the peeled fruit to the audience), as well as jumped high to reach hanging ang pow/red money packet. Many of the elderly family members have passed away since then but seeing Gaming made me think about that special day. I know it's a bit early but I want to wish Happy Lunar New Year to the Genshin Impact team at Hoyoverse and say Thank You for reminding me of some lovely memories.
