The original phrasing of "a warrior of black and white" is pretty important. It isn't just literal, as Shen interprets, but also refers to a warrior with inner peace, the theme of the movie. That was explained rather heavy-handedly with the yin yang motif, I thought, but apparently it wasn't heavy-handed enough if you're changing it to "black and white warrior, " which reads more solidly as a "literal only" interpretation.

I’m not sure if the entire summary was completely necessary, but this is intriguing. I’ve also seen it on the TV Tropes page. Very intriguing. I wonder if it would have been considered too dark if it was explicitly established he killed himself… 😂 I always paid attention to the fact that he closed his eyes.

Lord Shens chatacter is very similar to Kans in Indian history who had a prophecy of 8th son of his own sister killing him. He imprisoned his sister on her wedding day after wedding. But one mistake Kans made was to keep his sister Devaki and her newly wed husband Vasudev in a same prison cell.
Earlier 7 sons were killed by Kans and Vasudev escaped with the 8th son right after his birth and he gave the baby boy to his dearest friend who is the leader in a village named Gokul. That baby's foster farher was Nand. Right after Kans got to know the baby escaped, he ordered his soldiers to kill all the infants in his kingdom. But the baby who name is Krishna escaped❤
