Chieh, great video. One question. If one seeks an i approximation to p(z|x), should one not write q(z|x)? Yet, you write q(z). Why do you (and others) omit the conditional on x? Thanks.

Great video and explanation. Just a minor observation, I think a log is missing in the first term of the lower bound formula (inside the expectation) at 16:23

The equation of p(z|x) on 2:36, shouldn't it be integral of x on denominator?
