Discover the updated WhatsApp Business API pricing that will take effect on June 1, 2023, and do it in just 2 minutes!
WhatsApp has officially announced the pricing changes for using the WhatsApp Business Platform/WhatsApp Business API. They're allowing businesses to slowly transition into the new pricing structure according to the timeline below:
Effective March 1, 2023
Changes to free entry point conversations: user-initiated messages through free entry point conversations will have an extended free conversation window from 24h to 72h.
Effective April 1, 2023
Four new conversation categories are introduced:
1. Business-initiated conversations
- Utility conversations
- Authentication conversations
- Marketing conversations
When creating a message template, one of the three new conversation categories will need to be selected for approval.
2. User-initiated conversations
- Service conversations
Effective June 1, 2023
a) New rate cards for business-initatied conversations will be implemented.
b) Changes to free tier conversations: For every WABA account, the first 1,000 conversations each month are free for user-initiated/service conversations only.
